About Skin Cancer

Almost all skin cancers are caused by over exposure to Ultra Violet Radiation (UVR) whether from the sun or sunbeds. UVR is a known carcinogen to humans and over time the damage is irreparable and can, if undetected, lead to death.
I am proud to support the MASCED programme in the fight against the UK's fastest rising cancer,

Statistics from Cancer Research UK in 2018 tells us:
  • Over the last twenty-five years, rates of melanoma in Britain have risen faster than any other common cancer, killing more people in the UK than in the sunshine capital of the world, Australia.
  • The early detection of melanoma is vital for survival
  • There are over 2,400 deaths from melanoma every year in the UK
  • A massive 88% of melanoma cases are PREVENTABLE
